The ceremonial summary of MKS Bolesłavia’s season took place on Friday, December 1, at the Old Theatre in Bolesławiec. Before the ceremony began, a minute of silence was observed in memory of the friend of the Bolesławiec club, the late Dariusz Kwaśniewski.

There were also speeches by local government officials. County head Karol Stasik announced that the County would continue supporting Bolesłavia. Mayor Piotr Roman emphasized that meetings with the officials of our athletics club were, for him, like breathing clean air. “They are professionals and people with vision,” said the mayor of Bolesławiec.

During the ceremony, representatives of the Athletics Center in Bolesławiec, Bolesławiec Municipal Commune and the Polish Athletics Association signed a cooperation agreement. There was also discussion of the construction of a new municipal stadium. As P. Roman stated, work will certainly not begin next year, but there is a chance it will start in 2019. Meanwhile, deputy head of the Polish Athletics Association Zbigniew Polakowski announced that he would lobby for the investment at the Ministry of Sport and Tourism.

The ceremony, hosted by coach Tomasz Markowski, was also an opportunity to honor the best athletes, including Bolesłavia graduate Ewa Ochocka, a four-time medalist at this year’s Polish Championships and a representative of Poland at the European U23 Championships and the Universiade, and to thank those supporting the Bolesławiec club.
