A 4-kilometre section of bicycle path has been built on a former railway track in the Warta Bolesławiecka municipality. – The municipality, hoping that one day it will be possible to return to the cement and copper industries, decided at all costs to keep the railway track under its control. Perhaps such a railway line will be needed someday? – says Mirosław Haniszewski, head of Warta Bolesławiecka municipality. – The idea also arose that it would be worthwhile to build a bicycle path along this railway track. This year, we completed another stage – for PLN 1.5 million, we built the section between Warta and Iwiny. The path is now available both to residents of Warta municipality and to residents of other municipalities.
The 4-kilometre path is also to be equipped with bicycle technical-service points where basic repairs can be carried out.
That is not the end of the good news. Head Haniszewski is holding talks with the authorities of Bolesławiec Municipality and City and Osiecznica Municipality. The goal? A bicycle path connecting Kliczków Castle in Osiecznica Municipality with Grodziec Castle in Zagrodno Municipality.
