The aim of the competition is to preserve the tradition of celebrating Poland’s most important national holidays and to develop patriotic awareness and attitudes through artistic forms of expression. It is open to young people over the age of 16 and adults. The winners will be announced on November 25 during the ceremonial closing of the exhibition at the Orzeł Cultural Integration Centre. Next year, the three winning works will promote the Bolesławiec celebrations of Independence Day, and their authors will receive prizes in kind.

The rules are available on the cultural centre’s website. Today we are presenting one of the first entries submitted to the second competition, “Colours of Independence,” which is being held at the same time. It was created by six-year-old Laura from Municipal Kindergarten No. 1 in Bolesławiec.

The competition is organised by the Bolesławiec Cultural Centre – International Ceramics Centre in Bolesławiec, as part of the “Independent Poland Is Us” project, co-financed by the NIEPODLEGŁA Multiannual Programme for 2017–2021 under the “NIEPODLEGŁA” Grant Programme.
