On Friday, athletes, coaches, supporters and friends of MKS Bolesłavia met in the auditorium of Municipal School Complex No. 2. The end-of-season event provided an opportunity to sum up the club’s athletics achievements in 2008.
The ceremony was hosted by the vice-president, who is also one of Bolesłavia’s coaches, Tomasz Markowski. The guests gathered in the auditorium learned about the club’s organisational structure. A multimedia presentation was used to introduce the coaching staff, the club’s achievements and the successes of individual athletes. The presentation revealed that Bolesłavia, among other things, organises summer and winter holidays for young people training in athletics. The club also promotes the city of Bolesławiec at competitions in Poland and abroad.
MKS Bolesłavia’s greatest success in 2008 was the excellent performance of Jacek Nabożny, who finished seventh at the World Championships in the decathlon. In addition, during the Polish Indoor Combined Events Championships, he broke the Polish record in the heptathlon and became Polish champion in the decathlon.
Other Bolesłavia athletes also successfully competed in the Polish Championships: Monika Jurasik, Katarzyna Romaszko, Alicja Kaczmarska, Agnieszka Dalmata, Aneta Bujak, Paulina Olszowy, Paula Kowalik, Tomasz Król, Matusz Janik, Adrian Skrzypacz, Patryk Dudyński, Mateusz Pawluk, Paweł Andrzejewski, Wojciech Kowalski, Patryk Pieczarka, Maciej Parobczak and Mateusz Bieńkowski.
The athletes and friends of the club received gifts. The editorial team of IstotneInformacje.pl also received a commemorative photograph with Bolesłavia’s athletes.
