On Friday, 13 October— for the eleventh time— a ceremonial matriculation of new U3A students took place in Bolesławiec.

The University of the Third Age is an institution-wide organizational unit of UE Wrocław, which also includes a branch in Bolesławiec. The U3A conducts activities as part of lifelong education, with particular emphasis on economics, culture, art, history, health and gerontological prevention, for voluntarily organized retirees and pensioners.

The University of the Third Age in Bolesławiec is based at Primary School No. 1 at 38c Jana Pawła II Street. The coordinator of U3A activities in Bolesławiec is Wiesława Olczyk. U3A students are people who have reached the age of 55 and hold retiree or pensioner status. Classes are held on a semester basis, and the academic year lasts from October to May. The program includes lectures, physical fitness and rehabilitation classes, computer instruction, foreign-language learning, oriental dance, psychology and painting workshops, music workshops (choir), and the Cultural and Educational Club.

As part of its activities, the U3A also organizes trips, excursions to the theater, opera and philharmonic, integration meetings, picnics, the Water Universiade and the Municipal Senior Olympics.
