The incident occurred on Monday evening in the parking lot of Smulders Groep, on Kościuszki Street, opposite the Invest Park building. Three cars were damaged.
“This is not the first time something like this has happened. Recently, the windows of one car were smashed. Today, two fuel lines in two cars were damaged, while the brake line in a third was damaged,” our interviewees say. “A colleague’s car was once stolen, another person’s windows were smashed, and a third colleague’s petrol tank was drilled into. Something is constantly happening,” they add.
It is not difficult to imagine what could have happened if someone carrying a cigarette had approached the cars today, when there was a pool of petrol beneath them. Let us add that people from a town several dozen kilometres away had driven one of the damaged cars to work—and now they have a problem getting back home.
One of the people who was at the parking lot told us that there is a division at the company: management and quality-control staff may park on the premises, while production workers have to leave their cars in an unlit, unguarded parking lot.
It is a shame that the company did not install at least surveillance cameras; perhaps that would have prevented the vandalism.
