The association has approximately 500 members. Since the beginning of its activity, it has brought together pensioners, retirees and people with disabilities, including to integrate and activate members by organizing various forms of cultural, artistic, sporting and tourist activities, as well as representing their interests before public, local-government and administrative authorities and raising public awareness of their problems.
The Bolesławiec branch of PZERiI is chaired by Jan Doktor. Members regularly meet at the Bolesławiec Cultural Centre – International Ceramics Centre, taking part in various forms of social life in the city. During the anniversary celebrations, Bolesławiec Mayor Piotr Roman conveyed his recognition and congratulations on the 40th anniversary of the organization’s activity.
The ceremony also provided an opportunity to thank and honor people particularly involved in working for PZERiI. By resolution of the PZERiI Main Board, the following people received gold honorary badges: Jan Doktor, Tytusa Kalich, Helena Hołubowicz, Leokadia Pietruszczak, Albina Tylikowska.
Representatives of local governments, institutions and affiliated associations and organizations attended the anniversary celebrations. Performances by participants in the art workshops at BOK – MCC added splendor to the ceremony.
