The first reports of damage caused by Storm Ksawery began reaching the control station of the district commander of the State Fire Service in Bolesławiec on Thursday, October 5, at around 5:30 p.m. Crews were dispatched to deal with trees blown down by the wind, broken branches, damaged roofs and power lines. Three people were injured—including a child.
During the operations, a staff was established, including the District Crisis Management Team. The following took part in the staff’s work: the Bolesławiec district governor, the deputy Bolesławiec district governor, a member of the Bolesławiec County Board, the district commander of the State Fire Service in Bolesławiec, a representative of the District Police Headquarters in Bolesławiec, an energy-sector representative, the head of the District Roads Authority and a representative of Bolesławiec City Hall.
