At noon on Sunday, the court made its decision. The 20-year-old, who killed his mother’s partner and injured her herself on Friday, will spend the next three months in custody.
“My client admitted to committing the act but refused to provide an explanation at this stage of the proceedings,” said Wojciech Kasprzyk, the suspect’s defense attorney.
Unofficially, we know that the situation at the young man’s home had been bad for a long time. His mother, Agnieszka K., and her partner, Rafał P., abused alcohol. The 20-year-old worked and studied, but his family squandered his money. On that fateful day, he learned that his mother had sold some of his belongings at a pawnshop. That was the last straw. The young man attacked the woman and her partner.
The 20-year-old had not previously been convicted. If his mother dies, the young man will be charged with double murder.
