Last Sunday, the first-ever Street Workout World Championships in the strength and endurance category were held in Riga. The competition involved completing circuits consisting of 6–7 basic exercises (pull-ups, push-ups, squats, leg raises and muscle-ups) in the shortest possible time.

The competition began with a qualifying round, after which the nine best competitors advanced to the final. In the final, Krzysiek Susidko from Gromadka gave his rivals no chance.

World champion:

I have been training street workout for five years. It is a sport involving exercises using one’s own body weight, such as pull-ups on a bar, push-ups, squats, handstands, flags, various gymnastics elements and so on. Over time, when ordinary pull-ups and push-ups become too easy, we move on to more advanced versions of these exercises. You can see many of our skills on our Facebook fan page: https://www.facebook.com/SWGromadka/.

He adds: “In 2015, I won the Polish runner-up title in street workout in the freestyle category, while in 2016 it was in the strength and endurance category. I would also like to add that my teammate, Mariusz Szczepanowski, became the champion in the freestyle category in 2015 and the runner-up in strength and endurance.”
