Winning the Provincial Harvest Festival in Nowa Wieś Kraśnicka meant that the village and its wreath would represent the Lower Silesian Voivodeship during the Presidential Harvest Festival in Spała, held on September 16 and 17. In addition to the wreath-making group, the deputy head of Bolesławiec Municipality, Roman Jaworski, and the Song and Dance Ensemble of the Bolesławiec Region, led by Elżbieta Tor, also traveled to Spała.
The national harvest festival began on Saturday. On that day, the Competition for the Most Beautiful Harvest Wreath for the President of the Republic of Poland’s Award took place—the contest for which the residents of Nowa Wieś had been preparing since the Provincial Harvest Festival. The wreath-making groups were judged not only on the wreath itself. Points were also awarded for the group’s presentation and for the singing accompanying the wreath, performed by our municipal ensemble. The group from Bolesławiec Municipality was joined by a former ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina, well known to local residents, Duśko Kovaćevic, together with his wife. Ultimately, the wreath finished just off the podium, taking fourth place. This is another major success attributable to the wreath-making group.
