The District Prosecutor’s Office in Jelenia Góra is conducting an investigation into Agnieszka G., who is suspected of violating the bodily integrity of and insulting police officers. The second suspect in the case is Zbigniew U., who has been charged with insulting the Minister of National Education, Anna Zalewska. The suspects have not admitted to the alleged acts and refused to provide explanations. G. faces up to three years in prison; U. could be imprisoned for up to one year.

Let us recall: the incident took place on 19 December at the Karkonosze State University in Jelenia Góra, after a meeting between Minister of National Education Anna Zalewska and education representatives and local-government officials. The meeting concerned the reform planned by Minister Zalewska—the abolition of lower secondary schools.

At the time, the website of the weekly “Do Rzeczy” wrote:

The hooligans not only heckled the minister, but also jostled members of the delegation and shouted vulgar slogans. In addition, chants of “democracy” and “Zalewska—mayhem,” as well as “we’ll have a talk with you” and “Law and Justice is afraid of the nation,” could be heard.

Moreover, the District Prosecutor’s Office in Kamienna Góra conducted proceedings based, among other things, on a notification submitted by Agnieszka G. It concerned the alleged abuse of powers by an officer of the Municipal Police Headquarters in Jelenia Góra, who was reportedly unjustifiably violent toward Agnieszka G. and caused her “a health disorder lasting no longer than seven days.”

The investigation was discontinued in May this year. The decision is final. What do you think?
