Dioxin-contaminated meat from Irish slaughterhouses appeared in Legnica County and Bolesławiec County, the Wirtualna Polska portal reported. Veterinary services detected dioxins in raw, frozen bacon. The contaminated meat is being withdrawn from stores.
The meat from Ireland was imported by three Polish importers. It was purchased by 28 processing plants located in the following voivodeships: Mazowieckie, Wielkopolskie, Łódzkie, Podkarpackie, Dolnośląskie, Śląskie, Podlaskie, Kujawsko-Pomorskie and Świętokrzyskie. The meat came from animals that had been fed contaminated feed.
