Sports clubs in Lower Silesia have sports infrastructure requiring urgent modernization. In addition to renovating gymnasiums and sports fields, non-governmental organizations could apply for funding for specialized training equipment. Among the beneficiaries is Klub Sportów Walki Gladiator in Bolesławiec, which will receive PLN 20,000 in funding from UMWD for the “modernization of a sports facility”.

“I hope that the money we are providing will allow for better use of the existing sports infrastructure, support the development of children’s and young people’s sporting interests, and make it easier for them to participate in sporting competition at the highest level,” says Deputy Marshal Iwona Krawczyk.

The competition proved very popular. Sports clubs submitted a total of 40 applications worth PLN 2.3 million, requesting grants totaling more than PLN 1.2 million. Twenty-eight organizations met the formal requirements set out in the competition, and they will receive financial support from the budget of the regional government.

The clubs’ sporting achievements are also recognized. This year, 88 of them received financial awards totaling PLN 540,000.
