Two excellent robotics courses: Robo Kids, robotics for the youngest children (ages 4–7), and LEGO robotics (ages 8–12). The courses will be held at partner schools as paid extracurricular activities. Visit the courses’ fan page on Facebook.
Workshop 1: Robo Kids: develop your child’s logical thinking
Ribo Kids workshops for children aged 4–7 are amazing classes that develop children’s logical thinking, understanding of algorithms, spatial imagination and creativity. All this is done with the help of sets from which children build colourful robots and then program them using cards.
The constructions are very easy and, in addition to developing children’s technical skills, provide them with plenty of fun and joy. All the robots are made from building blocks!
Real robots created by children!
Please note that these are not ordinary toys, but real robots. To bring them to life, children create a program by assembling picture puzzles, which the robot reads when the cards are swiped through a reader. As a result, the robot will soon move from its place, flash its lights, make a sound and be ready for wild fun.
Each lesson includes exercises that expand the children’s knowledge—for example, we explain how a barcode works in a shop, what an engine is, how diodes work and much more!
Workshop 2: LEGO robotics, the basics of programming
During the classes, participants (children aged 8–12) work with special LEGO Mindstorms NXT or EV3 sets developed at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology! Using them, the children first build a robot, such as a Mars rover, then consider what tasks it should perform and program it on computers!
During the classes, we acquire new skills such as the basics of programming, logical thinking, creativity, spatial imagination and many others!
What do the classes involve?
Robotics workshops combine computer science, programming, robot building and great fun. Each class involves a new project to complete! First we start with building, then programming, and finally plenty of fun! Example topics include race cars, line followers, a Mars rover and a robo-manipulator!
No special abilities are required—just curiosity about the world and a willingness to try something new. Knowledge is conveyed through play during the classes!
What do robotics classes provide?
Thanks to appropriately selected tasks, children learn to independently solve the goals set before them. The classes develop both spatial imagination and manual skills, which are so important for the proper development of children at such a young age. The robot is programmed using special puzzles; by adding successive elements, children learn the basics of logical thinking and how to draw conclusions independently.
By participating in our classes, children learn about the world of science and technology around them in a practical way. Of course, the classes also provide children with incredible fun when they can bring the building blocks to life themselves.
