Antonio Rainone was born on 16 October 1961 in Battipaglia near Salerno, Italy. In keeping with his family tradition (two of his uncles were painters), he was fascinated by painting from an early age. He painted his first pictures when he was just 10 years old. By the age of 20, his work already had an individual style belonging to the naïve movement.
His body of work currently comprises more than 650 pieces, and his paintings are held in European collections (in Italy, France, Germany, Portugal, Russia and Poland), as well as in the United States and Iran. He has taken part in numerous exhibitions and competitions, winning prestigious awards.
