A resident of Kopaczów (Zgorzelec County) was caught by Border Guard officers in Kruszyn. During a vehicle inspection, officers found nearly 8,000 packs of cigarettes bearing Ukrainian excise tax markings on the rear seats and in the trunk. The value of the contraband was estimated at more than PLN 47,000.
Since the beginning of the year, officers of the Łużycki Border Guard unit have prevented the smuggling of tobacco products worth more than PLN 700,000. Most of the contraband came from across the eastern border.
