Within less than a day, CBŚP officers, assisted by uniformed officers from the Zgorzelec police headquarters, identified the first four suspects. The next two were detained several days later. (The arrests took place in the Lower Silesian, Silesian and Masovian voivodeships).

According to investigators’ findings, the men worked closely together, committing crimes both in Lower Silesia and in other locations across the country. One of the gang members pretended to be a CBŚP officer.

The detained men, aged between 31 and 56, were brought before the District Prosecutor’s Office in Zgorzelec, where they were charged with operating in an organized criminal group, unlawful deprivation of liberty, forcing a person to behave in a specific way and assault. The case is now being handled by the Lower Silesian Branch of the Department for Organized Crime and Corruption of the National Prosecutor’s Office in Wrocław.

The District Court in Zgorzelec ordered the temporary detention of all six.
