The incident occurred on Thursday, July 20, at approximately 12:15 p.m., at the railway crossing on the Legnica–Złotoryja road (kilometre 54 of road 364). The tractor driver, travelling from Złotoryja towards Legnica, lost control of the vehicle on a bend. The tractor's trailer hit a passenger Mercedes driven by a 62-year-old resident of Bolesławiec, the head of Ziemia Bolesławiecka. Fortunately, the well-known businessman, politician and social activist was unharmed.
Authorities are still carrying out their procedures at the scene. The road towards Legnica and the crossing are blocked.
