In an email to the editorial office, a resident of Bolesławiec wrote:

Renovation work on the terraces is under way on Łukasiewicza Street. The workers park their cars right on the lawns, using the lawns as a construction site. It should be noted that traffic is prohibited on this pavement, as indicated by the signs that have been put up. When informed about the matter, the Municipal Police, attempting to intervene, always receives the information that the cars are entering with the consent of the property manager, namely the management board of the “Bolesławianka” Housing Cooperative. The cooperative’s management board explains that such actions are being taken because they are “beneficial to the residents and are carried out for their benefit.”

He added: “According to the residents, such destruction of the lawns with the consent of Cooperative employees is a deliberate and intentional action. Its sole purpose is to bring about their complete devastation and then carry out their ‘revitalization’ at considerable expense.”

“First of all, there is not much space on Łukasiewicza Street, and the contractor has to bring in workers, materials and equipment. Surely we cannot order the renovation contractor to park their cars on Bielska,” explains Beata Ślęzak, head of the Bolesławianka Housing Cooperative Beata Ślęzak. “Secondly, if the contractor is obliged to restore the site to its pre-renovation condition, then the Cooperative pays nothing for it. Inevitably, some damage to these lawns must occur, but after the work is completed they are restored, at the expense of the renovation contractor. The tenants will not pay a single zloty for this.
