The “Wspólnota” magazine published a ranking of the revenues of local-government units in 2016. As it turns out, Bolesławiec, in the category of county towns, fell 13 places: from 21st place in 2015 to 34th place last year. Interestingly, the wealth of the Municipality of Bolesławiec itself did not suffer; on the contrary, it increased, namely by approximately PLN 8.60 “per head” (from PLN 3,184.39 in revenue per resident in 2015 to PLN 3,193.49 per capita in 2016). It therefore seems that although the status quo was maintained here, some local governments performed better last year than the City of Ceramics.

It is worth noting that Polkowice, the leader in this category—and continuously so since 2001—recorded a significant decrease in revenue per resident: from PLN 6,233.74 (2015) to PLN 5,647.29 (last year).
In 43 municipalities, revenue exceeds PLN 5,000 per resident. “This is the true aristocracy among Polish local governments,” wrote the ranking’s authors.
