On July 29, we reported that a district councillor from the City of Ceramics wore polka-dot socks to a council session. Other local-government officials also wear this type of clothing, with Piotr Roman at the forefront (as evidenced by the header photo). Our Reader wrote on the forum:

All in all—as part of the range offered to shoppers—some items, such as clothing, referring to Bolesławiec ceramics would be useful, especially during the Ceramic Festival, but not only then.

As istotne.pl was told by Agnieszka Gergont, spokesperson for the Bolesławiec municipal office, this is a matter for private entrepreneurs. She added that although the City Hall does have promotional merchandise referring to our ceramic traditions—the municipal office once ordered, for example, beer coasters with Bolesławiec polka-dot designs—it certainly will not be opening a clothing wholesaler.

It is also known that some ceramics companies offer, for example, tablecloths with such designs. What is more, during last year’s Ceramic Festival, a company from Wrocław sold polka-dot aprons. T-shirts bearing the words “I love Bolesławiec,” sold at one of the supermarkets, were also very popular. Entrepreneurs, both those already operating and those in spe, it looks like there’s a business opportunity here!
