Thanks to cooperation between the City of Bolesławiec and the County, renovations of county roads in the city are getting underway. On 19 June, we reported that the County had already awarded the contract for the reconstruction of two such streets—Polna and Ogrodowa. Work has already begun. City Council of Bolesławiec councillor Łukasz Jaźwiec played a significant role in ensuring that these particular streets would be renovated first.
“The condition of Ogrodowa and Polna was appalling, and these are, after all, streets in the very centre of the city. Residents had been waiting for this investment for years,” Romanowego Forum councillor said in an interview with istotne.pl.
And in the end, it happened. “Several factors contributed to this,” Ł. Jaźwiec stresses. “First, the mayor’s willingness: the City allocated more than PLN 700,000 for investments in county roads. Second, the willingness of the County authorities. A synergy emerged.”
The councillor discussed the renovation of the aforementioned streets with mayor Piotr Roman and deputy county head Tomasz Gabrysiak; he also submitted interpellations on the matter. “I ran in the local elections with this mission: to bring these two streets into a reasonable condition,” Łukasz Jaźwiec stresses. “I do not want to claim credit for myself. Other councillors from my district also raised this issue. But the mayor and the County played the leading role in resolving the problem.”
Next year, the County and the City plan to reconstruct Mostowa, including the bridge, and Dolnych Młynów, as well as complete the renovation of Staszica Street.
