This year, the Bolesławiec Municipality Head’s scholarships were awarded to 71 scholarship recipients. For the first time, they were granted in two categories: academic performance and artistic achievements. This year, the best students received a scholarship in the form of a one-off cash award, a commemorative statuette and a certificate, while their parents received a letter of congratulations.
The Head of Bolesławiec Municipality, Andrzej Dutkowski, spoke about the importance of this day and how enjoyable it is to reward such talented young people. Together with Grażyna Łucka, Deputy Chair of the Bolesławiec Municipal Council; Michał Gajewski, Deputy Chair of the Bolesławiec Municipal Council; Andrzej Szwedo, Chair of the Education, Culture, Sport and Social Affairs Committee; Roman Jaworski, Deputy Head of the Municipality; and Iwona Przybylska, Municipal Secretary, he congratulated the scholarship recipients and their parents.
Students who, in accordance with the Regulations on awarding scholarships to primary and lower-secondary school students, adopted by resolution of the Municipal Council, obtained between 120 and 200 points received a scholarship of PLN 600; those who obtained between 201 and 300 points received PLN 1,000; and those who obtained more than 300 points received PLN 1,500. The scholarship for achievements in artistic competitions amounted to PLN 300. In addition, students who received a scholarship for outstanding academic achievements, according to the point classification presented above, and who won awards in artistic competitions received an additional PLN 100.
In the 2016/2017 school year, as many as seven students achieved the highest academic results and represented their schools in various competitions. They are:
- Marta Szymula (achieved a very high average grade in both mathematics and humanities subjects; she is a winner of the 15th Bolesławiec Mathematics Competition at the district level and a winner of the District Spelling Tournament. In accordance with the regulations, Marta obtained 320 points)
- Zofia Wojtowicz (achieved a very high average in both mathematics and humanities subjects; she is a winner of the District Spelling Tournament. In accordance with the regulations, Zosia obtained 320 points)
- Emilia Turecka (achieved a very high average in both mathematics and humanities subjects; she is a winner of the District Art Knowledge Tournament and the district “Discovering Our Heritage” competition. In accordance with the regulations, Emilka obtained 325 points and additionally took second place in the District Recitation Competition)
- Magdalena Wilk (achieved a very high average grade in both mathematics and humanities subjects; she is a winner of the District Competition on the Knowledge of John Paul II and the Bolesławiec Mathematics Competition at the district level. In accordance with the regulations, Magda obtained 335 points)
- Oliwia Sas (achieved the highest possible grade average, 6.0, and received more than 95% of the points in the lower-secondary school examination. In accordance with the scholarship regulations, Oliwia obtained 340 points)
- Przemysław Sulich (obtained 410 points, achieving the highest possible grade average, 6.0; he is a winner of the Bolesławiec Mathematics Competition at the district level, and received more than 95% of the possible points in the lower-secondary school examination)
- Weronika Kaźmierczak (obtained 435 points, achieving a very high average grade in both mathematics and humanities subjects; she is a winner of the National English Language Competition and the District Polish Language Competition, and received more than 90% of the possible points in the lower-secondary school examination).

As is customary, the Municipal Head also thanked the directors of the municipal and rural educational institutions, without whose work these successes would not have been possible.
