On Friday, 21 November (at 6:00 p.m.), residents of Bolesławiec will be able to see performances by two independent student theatres. The evening will begin with a screening of the short film “Niecodzienność”. The film was directed by Bolesławiec resident Jacek Kupczak. It tells the story of Mateusz, a young man who one day is awakened by a persistent thought about the fragility of existence. As it turns out, the boy subconsciously senses a catastrophe.
After the film screening, the play “Pierwsza Miłość” will be performed. It is an adaptation of Samuel Beckett’s novella of the same title. The play is directed by Adrian Kaczmarczyk. It tells the story of the relationship between a vagrant and a prostitute. The cast includes Adrian Kaczmarczyk, Dagmara Paetz and Marcin Martyński.
Next, audiences will be able to see the hip-hop monodrama “Sinusoida” on the Concordia stage—a story about human highs and lows. The play combines dramatic text with improvised text (freestyle originating in hip-hop culture). “This is something new. Such a monodrama has never been presented in our city before,” says Grzegorz Roman.
On Saturday, 22 November, Concordia invites you to the cabaret evening “Zabawa słowem”. Grzegorz Żak, a guitarist and satirist who has won numerous awards at nationwide cabaret reviews, will perform.
On Sunday, 23 November, at 3:00 p.m., Concordia will host a Via Sudetica meeting concerning the organisation of Bolesławiec’s final of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity.
The Gliniada 2008 exhibition is still on view at the Concordia Gallery. Admission to all events is free.
