Mr and Mrs Beata and Dariusz Dudyński from Raciborowice set off for the seaside on 10 June. They rode for six days. They covered part of the route along the famous Oder-Neisse-Radweg bicycle trail. – However, our main goal was to explore the Polish side – Mr Dariusz tells istotne.pl. – Everything in Germany is too orderly and somewhat monotonous. Our routes are wilder and therefore feel more familiar.
The couple had the opportunity to visit Łęknica, Kostrzyn and Cedynia. The cycling enthusiasts took part in a Polish-German festival in Gubin, saw the Crooked Forest in Gryfino and visited Nowe Warpno (“the most beautiful town along the entire route”).
After covering almost 560 km, the couple reached Świnoujście. – It was the adventure of a lifetime – Mr Dariusz emphasizes.
Of course, this was not the Dudyńskis’ first cycling expedition. Mr Dariusz has been cycling intensively for 12 years, while Mrs Beata has been doing so for four. However, this was the first time they had covered such a long distance.
We ask Mr Dariusz what is needed to set off on such an expedition. – Above all, motivation – the cyclist replies. Fitness is also important, naturally. The couple from Raciborowice prepared for their “adventure of a lifetime” by going on shorter trips. According to Mr Dariusz, anyone wishing to undertake such an expedition should first cycle at least 1,000 km.
The two-wheel enthusiast adds: – I recommend cycling; it is the best way to spend your free time. I’m not saying that running or walking is bad, but you can see more on a bicycle. I hope that more and more people will become “sick” with cyclosis, just like us.
Next year, the couple plans to explore the Coast on their bicycles.
