On Tuesday, 18 November, the final match of the Girls’ County Championship of Upper-Secondary Schools Handball was played in the sports hall of I LO. The II LO team defeated I LO 17:6. Thanks to this victory, the II General Secondary School team finished second in the competition. I LO took third place.
The girls from ZSE had secured the championship earlier. The county champions played in the following lineup: Anna Prytycka, Katarzyna Romaszko, Daria Pawłowicz, Martyna Dubicka, Alicja Kaczmarska, Joanna Bartko, Anna Jamróz, Marta Piesyk, Marta Drab, Ela Grochowa, Magda Tyberek and Sylwia Michalska. The team’s coach is Krzysztof Lechowski.
With one round remaining, the boys’ team from ZSE secured the county championship. On 18 November, the electronics school’s representatives defeated II LO 19:14. The county champions played in the following lineup: Kamil Faltyn, Marcin Wiktor, Denis Mucha, Adrian Biały, Adrian Madej, Daniel Nizioł, Marcin Głowacki, Krzysztof Bondrów, Kamil Biczak, Mateusz Świerzewski, Tomasz Kijowski, Dominik Zadora and Maciej Tkacz. The team’s coach is Michał Sobczyszyn. Next Thursday, the I LO and II LO teams will compete for the runner-up title.
The winning teams qualified for the zone-level competition: the girls will compete on 26 November in Lubań, while the boys will play the following day in Bolesławiec.
