Applications may be submitted for theses defended in the 2015/2016 and 2016/2017 academic years at all public and private universities in Poland and abroad. Theses submitted in previous editions of the Competition may not be submitted again. The topics recommended by the Mayor of Bolesławiec should focus on issues related to increasing the competitiveness of the city of Bolesławiec on the domestic and foreign markets and be connected with the implementation of development plans adopted by the city authorities.

Each higher-education institution may submit any number of master’s or doctoral theses that the dean of the relevant faculty considers creative, innovative and deserving of broad dissemination. One supervisor may submit only one thesis to the Competition through their school or university. Theses submitted in previous editions of the Competition may not be submitted.

Theses should be delivered to Bolesławiec City Hall: 59-700 Bolesławiec, Ratusz-Rynek 41 – in person or by post by 31 October 2017. (for submissions sent by post, the postmark date is decisive).

The Competition winners will receive diplomas and cash prizes in the following amounts (net):

  • First prize: PLN 3,000
  • Second prize: PLN 2,000
  • Third prize: PLN 1,000.

Supervisors of the winning theses will receive diplomas and cash prizes of (net) PLN 1,000. The winning competition theses may be published at the expense of Bolesławiec City Hall or organizational units of the Municipality of Bolesławiec and widely disseminated. Universities represented by the Competition winners will receive preferential consideration when applying for the opportunity to arrange student placements at Bolesławiec City Hall.

The Competition will be decided by 29 December 2017. If the submission period for the 11th edition of the Competition is extended, the decision will be made by 28 December 2018. Details at www.boleslawiec.eu.
