On Thursday, 8 June, the Voivodeship Youth Defence Sports Competition was held in the capital of Lower Silesia. It was organised by the Lower Silesian Voivodeship OHP Headquarters, the General Tadeusz Kościuszko Military University of Land Forces in Wrocław and the Wrocław District Board of the League of Defence. The team of students from Bolesławiec’s “Budowlanka”, representing the Bolesławiec Voluntary Labour Corps, took second place. (The Construction School Complex students competed as: Marek Potrzebski, Artur Wałowski, Bartosz Kraśnicki and Patryk Chojnicki.)

The competition was held to a high standard. The teams had to cover approximately 3 km in the shortest possible time. The patrol-run route included thematic stations such as:

  • a medical station (providing first aid)
  • grenade throwing
  • a logistics station (setting up a military tent)
  • a technical station (changing a wheel on an off-road vehicle)
  • a “Road Traffic Regulations” test
  • a reconnaissance station (detecting targets in the field)
  • air-rifle shooting
  • overcoming obstacles at the Physical Fitness Centre.
