Fortunately, this problem has been solved thanks to comprehensive drainage of the area around Zespół Szkół Mechanicznych (the project was completed last year). In 2015, work began around the school grounds: the foundation of the facility’s fence along Mała Street was raised, and drainage was installed on the eastern side of the building to protect the school grounds and basement rooms from flooding by rainwater.
In 2016, the external walls were vertically insulated and thermally upgraded; the building’s external walls and roof were insulated. As a result, the school gained an entirely new façade.
The value of the works carried out as part of the project in 2015–2016 amounted to PLN 967,225.88. The cost of the second stage, for which approximately PLN 500,000 in funding was obtained from the European Regional Development Fund (under the Regional Operational Programme of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship 2014–2020), was approximately PLN 700,000. The investment was carried out by Axyo.pl, a company from Jelenia Góra.
