Jeleniogórscy police officers, together with officers of the Karkonosze National Park Guard and the Forest Guard from Kowary, Szklarska Poręba, Jawor, Złotoryja, Lwówek Śląski and Kamienna Góra, systematically conduct operations targeting people speeding through forests and mountain trails on quad bikes and motorcycles.

During one such operation, police officers fined four riders of motocross motorcycles who had illegally entered a forest. Moreover, on June 5 in Jeżów Sudecki, they stopped seven motorcyclists for a roadside inspection; the riders had been travelling on a road without registration plates. It turned out that six of them were from Germany. They were fined for failing to register their motorcycles. The seventh, a resident of Jeżów Sudecki municipality, will answer for the offense before a court.

The uniformed officers remind the public that entering protected areas with motor vehicles without authorization and damaging natural resources can result in a fine of up to PLN 1,000. Joint operations by police officers and forest guards are intended not only to prevent damage to nature, but also to make walkers feel safer.
