The Lower Silesian Voivode Paweł Hreniak announced at a press conference that, from 7 June, additional overtaking bans for heavy goods vehicles would be introduced on the Lower Silesian section of the A4 motorway:

  • permanent no-overtaking signs for heavy goods vehicles will be installed on the section between the Kostomłoty and Gościsław interchanges, on both carriageways, and between the Udanin and Budziszów interchanges, on the northbound carriageway
  • the existing ban applies between Pietrzykowice and Wądroże Wielkie intermittently and on uphill sections near the Legnickie Pole and Lubiatów interchanges. From tomorrow, this section of road will be fully covered, bringing the total length of the restrictions to more than 40 km.

The purpose of the restrictions is to improve the safety of road users on the Lower Silesian section of the A4, reduce the number of accidents, minimise congestion forming between Wrocław and Legnica, and improve the flow of passenger cars.
