A reader wrote: “On television, they keep talking about ticks and the effects of the disease, and about how many cases there have been this year. After talking to neighbours who have dogs, I know that this is a serious problem. But why is someone saving money on mowing the lawns in the city of Bolesławiec this year?”
Grażyna Strzyżewska, deputy head of the Municipal Housing Management Establishment in Bolesławiec:
Grass is being mowed on an ongoing basis in areas administered by MZGM in Bolesławiec, starting from April 2017. The service is provided by Ogrody Jagielski. We have not introduced, nor are we introducing, any limitations on the provision of this service. Every area administered by the Establishment has either already been mowed or will be mowed.
She adds: “Meanwhile, the areas behind the Old Town are maintained by MZGM employees. Some areas, such as the town plantations, have already been mowed four times during this period, municipal parks have been mowed twice, and some three times. Work on planting flower beds is currently being completed. Hedge trimming has also begun.
