The police received information that illegal tobacco was being sold in one of the shops in Bolesławiec. Indeed, in the shop’s utility room, officers seized approximately 3 kg of tobacco and more than 50 packs of cigarettes without Polish excise-duty markings. The illegal goods were being sold by a 66-year-old woman from Bolesławiec County.
It was estimated that, as a result of the operation, the State Treasury lost nearly PLN 4,000. Further activities in the case are being conducted by the Tax Office. The 66-year-old woman could face a prison sentence.
