The ceremony included thanks and awards from Leszek Żyzny, Director of the Witold Lutosławski State Music School, to employees of the Bolesławiec institution. The school’s former directors, Bernard Cichorzewski and Dorota Pińczuk, were also honored.

The school currently educates 160 students in piano, accordion, violin, viola, cello, double bass, classical guitar, clarinet, flute, saxophone, trumpet and percussion classes. One of its objectives is to reach the youngest audiences for music, hence the organization of “Musical Mornings” in preschools, primary schools, lower-secondary schools and upper-secondary schools.

Among the most important distinctions earned by PSM students are regional, national and international placements in competitions, reviews and tournaments. Since 1986, nearly half a thousand students have graduated from the school.

Local government officials also offered their congratulations to the school community. Bolesławiec County Starosta Cezary Przybylski thanked current and former students who create and have created the school’s successes and its atmosphere.
