We are presenting three fairy tales and two novels at the fair in Białystok, which is taking place this weekend (April 21–23). We are particularly pleased to present the novel “Joachim,” which is receiving good reviews and portrays our city with its unique atmosphere and attractions.

In her latest review, Izabela Kornet (a blogger, organizer of the Conscious Female Bloggers’ Meetings in Bydgoszcz and originator of the regular Conscious Female Bloggers’ Breakfasts & Conscious Women’s Breakfasts) writes about the novel “Joachim”:

[..] I was in this novel. I was there mainly with Joachim, Angelika, Natalia, Mira and her daughter. The beginning with “Joachim” was not easy almost until the very end, until I passed page 200 and fell apart. That was the most important moment: I understood that everything Grażyna Hanaf writes about is really happening. It is happening around me, around my family, around my neighbors. It is happening in my village and the nearby town. It is happening around you.

For six years, Białystok has been among the prestigious cities in Poland that organize book fairs. An advantage of the Białystok fair is the excellent location of the fair events (in the city center), as well as the fact that it is the only book fair in northeastern Poland. Publishers therefore have a unique and unparalleled opportunity to present their offerings in this part of Poland.

Last year, 70 leading publishing houses came to the book fair in Białystok, and nearly 20,000 Białystok residents visited the fair. This year’s event will be more impressive, as 82 publishers have announced their participation.

The 6th International Book Fair in Białystok will be accompanied by the literary festival “At the Borderland of Cultures,” featuring numerous workshops for children, literary workshops, meetings with distinguished writers, and nationwide book launches.
