The last disco at the Pegaz club took place last Friday. It lasted from 6:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. The participants were club members and instructors active in 1972–92, now living in various parts of the world. They came from Australia, the United States, Germany, Belgium and various regions of Poland. As usual, admission tickets cost 2 złoty. The money was used to buy candles and flowers for friends who had passed away.

The music was provided by the city’s first club DJ, Mirek Głogowski. The party was preceded by warm greetings and lengthy conversations among people who had often not seen one another for more than 20 years. Looking through chronicles and photographs prompted memories and anecdotes. The atmosphere was reminiscent of years gone by.

On Saturday, Pegaz was ceremonially led away. At 6:00 p.m., a procession of club members set off from BOK with a live Pegasus, which was bid farewell in the Market Square with the words: “Fly, Pegasus, into a bright future.”

Bogusław Nowak (together with a Pegaz legend, Marian… represented by a mannequin) invited all their friends to Piwnica Paryska for moments of reminiscing over a glass of champagne and music from those years. Today’s young people joined the club members, the oldest of whom was 80-year-old Janina Kowalonek (the first female painter to exhibit at the Pegaz club). The party continued until morning. The most persistent participants took part in jam sessions featuring Tomek Wachnowski.

On Sunday came the “visit to Friends”—a meeting at the cemetery with those whom they would no longer have the chance to meet. The friends placed flowers and candles on their graves.
