At the latest session of the regional assembly, a list of historic monuments in Lower Silesia that will receive grants from the regional budget for projects related to their protection and conservation was approved. This year, the regional government has allocated PLN 5 million for this purpose.
Four parishes from Bolesławiec County will receive funding from the regional budget:
- The Roman Catholic Parish of St Anthony in Gierałtów – PLN 30,000 for renovating the roof truss and replacing the roofing of the church
- The Roman Catholic Parish of St Jadwiga in Tomaszów Bolesławiecki – PLN 20,000 for conserving the Baroque Stations of the Passion
- The Roman Catholic Parish of Our Lady of Częstochowa in Bożejowice – PLN 15,000 for the conservation and restoration of the side altar of St Joseph the Worker
- The Roman Catholic Parish of the Stigmata of St Francis of Assisi in Tomisław – PLN 30,000 for the renovation of the façade.
– Lower Silesia is exceptionally rich in historic buildings. Many of them require renovation and conservation. Our regional government has allocated substantial funds for this from the regional operational programme. Two weeks ago, we distributed more than PLN 70 million, says Marshal Cezary Przybylski. – Independently of EU funds, each year we allocate PLN 5 million from the regional budget for essential conservation work. That is five times more than the government provided for historic monuments in Lower Silesia this year.
