On March 20, the duty officer of the Bolesławiec Municipal Police received an anonymous report concerning the improper keeping of a dog. A patrol was sent to the scene.

The dog was tied to a kennel with a chain—shorter than 3 m, which is against the law. What is more, the animal was infested with numerous fleas and ticks. To make matters worse, there was no water in the bowl, and the dog's feces were lying around the kennel.

The officers tried to contact the owner. Without success. The situation was reported to the district veterinary inspector and the Bolesławiec police.

Following an inspection by the district veterinary inspector, an application was submitted to take the dog away.

On March 29, the dog was taken from its owner and placed in a shelter.
