Officers from the Criminal Division of Police Station I in Jelenia Góra identified and then detained a 58-year-old man suspected of killing a cat. A woman from Jelenia Góra notified the officers about the case. She suspected that someone had fatally shot the animal with an air rifle. Her suspicions were confirmed by an autopsy performed by a veterinarian.
The 58-year-old man suspected of the act was detained the following day. According to the police, he was the one who shot the cat, although the man himself claims that he was shooting only at cans and a target.
The police secured the air rifle and pellets. They are currently clarifying all the circumstances of the case. The 58-year-old man could face up to two years behind bars.
