The incident occurred on Wednesday, March 1, in the evening. Two patients from the children’s ward of the psychiatric hospital in Bolesławiec (al. 1000-lecia) attempted to escape. One of them tore off a metal bed component, which was used to break the windowpane. The older escapee (a 16-year-old), holding a piece of glass, attacked two nurses who were in the duty room. He beat both of them and cut one of them with the piece of glass around the neck. (Only he managed to escape; security guards caught the younger patient.)

The women were immediately given medical assistance at the county hospital. Their lives are not in danger, and they were discharged home.
The 16-year-old was detained several hours later in the vicinity of Legnica. He returned to the hospital ward. He has been staying there since Monday. Investigators are not providing information about his health.
The proceedings in this case are being conducted by the District Prosecutor’s Office in Bolesławiec, which will notify the family court about the entire situation. We will return to the subject.
