For the duration of construction of bridges over the Kwisa River—along the county road from Bolesławiec to Świętoszów—on 1 February 2017, a detour was introduced from the Luboszów junction toward Iłowa and Żagań, and onward to Rudawica and Świętoszów.

Unfortunately, despite the official detour, local residents are choosing the shorter and worse route through Łozy. It is a municipal dirt road that, at this stage, serves as a so-called unofficial crossing. Although the road manager, the head of the rural Żagań municipality, together with the Żagań county head and the head of Osiecznica municipality, Waldemar Nalazek declared that they would adapt the road for traffic (Bolesławiec County also provided financial support for this project), the winter season is not conducive to such repairs. Quite simply, better weather must be awaited. Bolesławiec County Head Karol Stasik apologizes to residents for the traffic difficulties, while reminding them of the officially designated route, which is well connected and in good technical condition.

“Unfortunately, there is no rose without thorns. The construction of two new bridges and 22 km of road in Osiecznica municipality is possible thanks to the many efforts and millions secured by the authorities of Bolesławiec County. We have waited years for safe bridges,” county officials point out. “The quality-of-life improvement for residents of Osiecznica municipality and visitors will be dramatic after this project, but we have to endure the repair stage. We will therefore be grateful for your understanding and patience.

Let us recall that the largest road investment in the history of Bolesławiec County, which has resulted in difficult access to Świętoszów, will cost PLN 26 million. It involves rebuilding the road, including demolishing two old bridges located in Świętoszów and constructing new ones. They will replace the old temporary crossings and significantly improve connections between Świętoszów, Osiecznica and Bolesławiec, shortening the route by more than 5 km compared with the detour. The project will receive funding from the Regional Operational Programme of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship for 2014–2020.
