The incident occurred on 18 February, during the night. Officers from the Department for Combating Crimes Against Life and Health of the Legnica Municipal Police Headquarters took up the case. The officers’ findings showed that the taxi driver had been stabbed by a man whom he had driven to Senatorska Street. The injured man got into the car and went to hospital, where he received medical assistance. The perpetrator fled.
The officers spotted the aggressor on Świętego Wojciecha Street. The man was behaving nervously. During a conversation with the police, the 37-year-old admitted that shortly earlier he had got into an argument with an unknown man on Senatorska Street. What is more, the suspect had a knife, marijuana and methamphetamine on him. He was taken into police custody. The following day, the prosecutor’s office placed him under police supervision.
The 37-year-old now faces up to five years in prison.
