Our Reader started a thread on our forum: “Will plaster fall on you?” and wrote:
The old plaster on some buildings on Karola Miarki Street looks dangerous for pedestrians walking there. The sidewalk runs right alongside the buildings and is so narrow that it is impossible to move a safe distance away. If the buildings—which, to put it mildly, do not look good—cannot currently be renovated, some temporary solution should be used, even if only signs warning of dangerous building exteriors.
“I have not found that plaster has been falling there,” Emil Zając, president of the Bolesławiec Social Housing Society, which manages the building in question, told istotne.pl Emil Zając. “If it were falling, we would certainly have fenced off the property or done something to prevent anything from falling. It may not look nice, but that does not mean it is dangerous there,” the TBS head emphasizes. He immediately adds that, just in case, he will send an employee there to check the Reader’s report.
As E. Zając explained to us, residents should be asked about renovating the building’s exterior: “This is decided by the homeowners’ association; I cannot force the owners of the apartments to spend their money on this. Although I also believe that these exteriors should be renovated.”
Some of them will be renovated, in any case. This concerns numbers 22 and 26 (in the latter case, for now, only the rear exterior is involved). We will return to the subject.
