Participants in the event, which will take place on Friday, March 3, will include students from 14 Lower Silesian and Lubusz schools educating young people in uniformed classes, soldiers from units of the 11th Lubusz Armoured Cavalry Division, officers from the Border Guard’s Specialist Training Centre in Lubań, and soldiers from the 3rd Armored Brigade Combat Team of the United States.

The organizers of the “For the Cursed – 1963” Run and Shooting Tournament, held under the patronage of the President of the Republic of Poland, Andrzej Duda, are the Association of Former Soldiers of the 62nd Special Company “Commando” and the 23rd Silesian Artillery Regiment, at whose training facilities the event will be held.

Observance program:

  • 9:00 a.m. – a spoken and musical performance by students from the uniformed classes of the Kombatants of the Lwówek Land Economic and Technical School Complex in Rakowice Wielkie (venue: Bolesławiec Basilica of the Virgin Mary)
  • 10:00 a.m. – start of the exercises at the 23rd Silesian Artillery Regiment in Bolesławiec (venue: the 23rd Artillery Regiment assembly square)
  • 10:10–11:45 a.m. – drill exercises, firearms construction training, Shooting Tournament
  • 12:00 noon – “For the Cursed – 1963” Run
  • 12:30–1:30 p.m. – soldiers’ meal
  • 2:00 p.m. – ceremonial assembly (summary of the run and shooting tournament, roll call of remembrance, parade). Venue: the 23rd Artillery Regiment assembly square.
