School day camps

As usual, Zgorzelec’s public primary schools have prepared an offer of winter day camps for their students, inviting children to activities led by teachers on every working day. The day camps provide an opportunity to meet peers and enjoy good, safe fun under the supervision of experienced educators. The wide range of activities will certainly include playing in the snow, opportunities to develop artistic talents, as well as team games and activities.

Holidays at the swimming pool

For many, the break from classes is an encouragement to enjoy an active holiday. Skates, skis and sledges are children’s and teenagers’ favourite winter pastimes. After exercising outdoors, it is worth relaxing at the swimming pool. As every year during the holidays, the mayor is providing students from Zgorzelec schools with free admission to the municipal swimming pool at ul. Maratońska:

  • primary school students – from 10:00 to 11:00
  • lower-secondary school students – from 11:15 to 12:15.

An additional incentive to use the municipal swimming pool will be the Aquatic Obstacle Course, available during the second week of the holidays – from 20 to 26 February.

Holidays with basketball

Koszykarski Klub Sportowy Turów Zgorzelec invites basketball enthusiasts to Holidays with Basketball at PGE Turów Arena. The activities will take place on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 10:00 at PGE Turów Arena. They will be led by Tomasz Zabłocki, Mirosław Kabała, Dariusz Tomasik and Artur Ziemba. Activities at the Municipal Cultural Centre

Daily, two-hour activities for children and teenagers will also be held at the Municipal Cultural Centre. From Monday to Friday, between 10:00 and 12:00, under the green dome of Zgorzelec’s MDK, participants will be able to take part in games, integration dances, circus activities, art workshops, and meetings devoted to animals and their habits. There will also be a carnival ball and theatre workshops for young people aged 14 and over. At Kino PozaNova, an open film screening for children will be held every day at 13:00.

Vikings at the Lusatian Museum

The Lusatian Museum has also prepared an interesting offer for those aged 7 to 10 who are curious about the world. The three-hour workshops, combined with a tour of the exhibition “Vikings. Truso, a Legend of the Baltic”, to which museum staff invite participants from 20 to 24 February, offer an invitation to have great fun and a unique opportunity to deepen one’s knowledge, including of ancient times. Activities at the Municipal Public Library

The children’s department of the Municipal Public Library invites young and slightly older book lovers to spend the holidays at the library. To mark the winter break, librarians invite children to the library every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 11:00 to 14:00 for fascinating meetings devoted to literature on every subject, arts and crafts workshops and games.
