We have repeatedly reported in our pages on the reconstruction of provincial road no. 297 on the Bolesławiec–Lwówek Śląski section. Readers recently told us that although the road was closed in autumn, little work has been carried out there. We have also heard that there is a problem with the main contractor. People are complaining because the roads that currently serve as detours are in terrible condition.
We asked the Lower Silesian Service for Roads and Railways for comment. “The contractor completed all the work that could be carried out before the winter period,” Leszek Loch, head of DSDiK, told us. He also assured us that the local-government unit had no information about any problems with the road contractor.
Will the work be delayed? “We do not anticipate any delays in the completion deadline,” Leszek Loch reassures. “If such delays do occur in the future, they will only be due to causes beyond our control, such as delays in obtaining administrative decisions issued by other authorities.”
The work will resume as soon as winter ends. We will return to the subject.
