Some pavements in Bolesławiec are still icy, and getting across them safely is almost a miracle. An outraged reader wrote to our newsroom:
Hello. I would like to raise the issue of uncleared, indeed icy pavements in most areas of the town (...)
(...) People have to walk on the road, risking their lives, health and a fine, so as not to sprain, twist or break their legs on the icy pavement. And the municipal services do nothing... Could this be some kind of special budget saving?P.S. I am attaching photographs of the pavement on the opposite side of the Shell station, towards Stokrotka...
Maybe something will change after your intervention, because it does not look as if this will clear up soon (it freezes at night and thaws during the day... and the ice on the pavements is getting better and better)
Best regards
The photo above shows the icy pavement on Asnyka Street. The photograph was taken on 3 February at around 12:00, after the morning rush hour. Following our intervention, the pavement was covered with sand. The photo below was taken at 15:00.
The town’s streets and pavements have their own administrators. Who is responsible for which ones? On the town hall’s website, you can see the list of streets divided by administrators.
