– We are honored to invite you to Iwiny for the eighth edition of the Spacerek... Until 2015, we ran for WOŚP. For the second season, we are “playing” for children from our immediate area, in accordance with the principle that “charity begins at home,” says Dariusz Pachnik, the event’s co-organizer.

This year, the organizers (Gminne Centrum Kultury w Warcie Bolesławieckiej, Regionalne Centrum Sportowe w Lubinie, the “Tukan” and “Orientpark” Iwiny Student Sports Clubs) are collecting money for Kacper Cechner, a 13-year-old from Raciborowice. The teenager suffers from drug-resistant epilepsy. Further treatment attempts have so far failed to bring the expected improvement. Doctors from Centrum Zdrowia Dziecka in Warsaw suggested using an anti-seizure stimulator.

Unfortunately, the device costs approximately PLN 30,000, and the NFZ does not reimburse its purchase. “We know that many of you will turn up at the starting line in Iwiny. We expect more than 200 people to run in the main race (more than 170 last year). You will run, and we will give you a wonderful welcome. Together, we will help Kacper and his parents, at least a little. See you on Saturday, January 14,” the organizers add. Details below:

Entry fee:

  • PLN 10 – main race
  • PLN 7 – race for primary- and lower-secondary-school students.

Registration on the day of the event or online: https://elektronicznezapisy.pl/event/972.html. Last year, nearly PLN 3,000 from entry fees went to Piotr Kołodziej, a boy with cerebral palsy!
