On Tuesday, 13 December, a ceremony was held at the Old Theatre with the participation of the provincial police chief, Insp. Arkadiusz Golanowski. During the ceremony, the previous head of the Bolesławiec County Police Headquarters, Insp. Henryk Stefanko, was bid farewell, and the duties of chief were entrusted to Subinsp. Dariusz Borski, previously deputy head of the Bolesławiec County Police Headquarters.

Henryk Stefanko spoke:

When I came here on 1 August 2013, I felt severely punished by fate and by my provincial chief, because he took me away from my beloved Złotoryja. But I soon realized that I had won the lottery. In this wonderful city and county, I met many wonderful people. I can count those three and a half years among the most successful periods of my professional life.

Dariusz Borski: “Provincial Chief, thank you very much for your trust. It is a true privilege and honor for me. I have lived in Bolesławiec since birth, apart from short breaks. The problems faced by the residents of this city affect me directly.”

There were also expressions of thanks. The heads of the municipalities in Bolesławiec County and members of the County Board spoke very warmly about the departing chief. Dariusz Pawliszczy, head of Gromadka, stressed: “Some situations, circumstances and events are incomprehensible to us. A man of enormous potential and vast experience, still in the prime of his life, has to say goodbye to us. And we still had so many plans...”
